XP not restarting after being idle?

Not sure, but here it goes. XP Pro seems to be running great, goes into screen saver & eventual monitor shut down. Then it will not re-open. Tried all new settings on the monitor, nothing. Updated VGA Driver, nothing. Virus scans, checked hardware conflicts, updated windows, even changed video cards (removed all old drivers before install of new ones) changed all cables in the machine even cleared the bios and ran in safe mode with defaults, nothing! Does anybody have any idea other then chunking this machine? Thank you, Kevin

Had similar problem when was using XP Pro. Never figured it out. End up turning the monitor off after idle., and NEVER turn off hard drive and NEVER sleep.
