oh sorry i thought yours was g3 not b3.. yeah you only have pci 2.. sorry mate

So, in determining whether I want to return my GTX 590 and swap it out for a HD 7970, I should factor in that the 7970 is PCI Express 3.0 whereas the 590 is PCIe 2.0.

How much would that cut the speed of the card down if I were to swap to the 7970? :??:

Best solution

pci 3 is backwards compatible with pci 2. the only difference is the bandwidth structure, lots of useless jargon. personally i'd make the switch especially since you'll have a LOT less issues with the 7970. although i know it sucks to ship parts back and wait for new ones... its the best option.
