I have an old E8400 running at 3.06 ghz and am looking up to upgrading my video card to either a GTX 460, Radeon HD 6850 or Radeon HD 6870. The decision essentially comes down to which card I can get the best deal on (keeping an eye on Neweggs daily deals). So, my question is - will any of these cards be bottlenecked due to me running an old E8400?

Thanks in advance!

hello ccltek76,
buddy as u r having Intel Core 2 Duo.So u are fine with it.
Even Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 will have no problem whereas u are having E8400.
N as far as OC is concerned. It may be required for E7500 but not for ur CPU.
No worries.
Best Of Luck.

e8400 is more than what you need as a good dual core cpu its really impressive,if i would be you i would go with gtx 460ftw by evga,it beats 6800series in almost every benchmark.its a great bang for bucks, performance is very close to gtx 470.hope this helps:D
