So basically, about 5 days ago, my Core temps at idle were around 28-30degrees.
In the BIOS, about 45

Today, when checking my temps, they are about 5 degrees higher (in idle)
Bios is around 50
Core Temps are around 34-36

Programs I use to check are Core Temp and HW Monitor.

I also want to check the ambient temps.
From what I have heard, regular mercury thermometers are not very reliable.
Is this true, and what would be the best way to check ambient temps?

I am just a bit worried as I haven't changed anything regarding to setup or my computer.

Okay, well I was a bit worried as this is my first time building and I'm a newbie, I just wondered why it jumped 5 degrees suddenly.

Also, how should I go about checking ambient temps?

Would checking temps with a regular thermometer suffice?

Are you in the northeast USA, by any chance? It's starting to be summer (97 in NYC today!).
In Speedfan, one of the mysterious temperature readings (no location specified) is usually at my ambient temperature. It'll be the lowest one.

In located in Toronto (Southern Ontario, Canada(.
I did notice a temperature increase in the weather outside in the last few days.
I don't know why it would affect indoor room temps though as they feel around the same temps, but I guess that could be why.

I just ran Speedfan, which temp reading are you talking about exactly?
