When I build a ship, I have been putting sandcasters/intercepts first
because I learned that what you need to do because they fire at in
coming fire first. However in the ship data pages it lists the last
ones first.

Is this right?

I have noticed the same. Other weapons are in the order they have been
put in.

However, I had never any problems with the SCs listed last.
