Can I replace Sempron 145 with Athlon II X2 245?

Hello,

My brother gave me his computer it was an emachines EL1352G-01W

I have an athlon II X2 245 processor and the emachine has a Sempron 145 processor, I just want to know if I could use my athlon II cpu and replace the sempron 145? It has Nvidia GeForce 6150 SE board if I'm not mistaken. Please help!

Very probably. Those processors use the same socket (AM3) and are both 45W. If you can identify your motherboard, you can find out for sure. You just need to rule out any motherboard/BIOS silliness.

What do I need to configure in bios if I use athlon II x2 cpu?

You don't need to change a BIOS setting. It will either POST or it won't. It's just a question whether or not your motherboard and BIOS will support a dual core processor. Since you have the Athlon II, just give it a shot. Or open your computer and try to figure out what kind of motherboard you have.
