A dell computer has two 2gb ram chips but displays 2 99 gb

I have a Dell Optiplex GX280 with two DIMMs installed, 2GB each. Properties shows 2.99 GB ram. Why? :fou: Please do not post your @mail (that way u are helping to spread the spam), u will be automatically notified if some one post fresh line in your thread. Thanx : )

    take off your email
    sounds like you are running a 32 bit os
    you will need a 64 bit os to utilize more than 3.75gb ram

    You are running a 32 bit windows I assume? It can't use 4gb.
    Also, you shouldn't put your email address in a post like this, you will get spam.

    To use more RAM than 3.25GB, u really need x64bit windows.

    And integrated graphics will allocate your RAM too.
