Hey all,
So I just recently built a new rig for a friend and am running tests before we actually put a real load onto the cpu. Right now I am running a virus scan on the 2ndary hard drive and downloading Starcraft 2. The cpu temp keeps fluctuating around 60's and into the high 70's celcius. I personally don't think the cpu temp should be getting this high with these kinds of tasks and can't imagine what it will get to running SC2 on max settings.
System Specs (standard, no overclocking)
i7 960 3.2ghz
Asus x58 sabertooth
Corsair ddr3 dominator 1600mhz triple channel
EVGA gtx 560 ti
Corsair 650 tx psu
WD 500g caviar blue 7,200rpm
WD 250g (some old model)
Zalman CNPS 9900A heatsink
Also, the ram is clocking in at 1066mhz. Is there a reason why its running this stock? Is my ram even compatible with this chip/board?
If anyone can help, it would be much appreciated. Thank you.
btw, I am pretty noob about all this stuff.
