If you can see a network adapter (ethernet socket) on the computer then probably all that's missing is a driver. Is there nothing yellow flagged in Device Manager ? If you are stumped it might be simplest to just go and buy a new adapter (they are pretty cheap). For a laptop PCMCIA or USB type -- desktop USB or PCI. Can't find your answer ? Ask !
