Hello

I have a friend with a Fujitsu E-Series 4010 notebook. He is wanting to
add wireless capability. This is not my area of expertise.

Wondering if someone can point me in the right direction for what to
look for
etc. assuming this notebook is suited to wireless.

Any help appreciated.

Not sure if the 4010 has a mini-PCI slot or not to add an internal
wireless card. If not, the common thing to do is get an 802.11g/b
wireless card for the PC Card (aka Cardbus) slot. Another option is
to get a tiny one that plugs into the USB port of the laptop. Both
are widely used and common.

If the laptop has Windows XP, it's very easy to get the wireless
going. Follow the instructions to install whichever wireless card you
buy. Then the computer will simply pick up whichever wireless
networks are in range and you can hop on.

If you are talking about adding a wireless network at home or
something, to use with the laptop, that's a tad more complicated but
still pretty easy to do. Just adding a wireless card to the laptop
should be a snap.

Thanks a lot for your quick reply. The notebook has Windows XP (Pro),
and he does not want a wireless network. I am sure that he will ask for
some help once he has the hardware and I will follow you advice.

Thanks again.
