Radeon HD 6870 won't post on an A7GM-S

Hi,

As far as I can tell from the specs, this combination should work, but I'm getting the long-short-short beep upon powering up. The card did post on another system, so I figure it's the mb? Updating the bios to 799f1p15 didn't help.

Any ideas?

I don't understand what you're saying. I know the BIOS is complaining about the video, the question is why? What about the A7GM-S is incompatible with the Radeon 6870?

what power supply do you have (volts/amps if you can find them )
are you plugging into the yellow port(it should only fit into it either way )
there shouldnt be any compatibility problems because you have the PCI-E 16x slot they want... this probaly isnt the problem but make sure you onboard isnt running

The power supply is not the problem because I used it to get the card to post on another system (that didn't have a sufficient power supply).

Onboard video is disabled in the BIOS.
