Hi,

A friend of mine recently purchased an Asus P8Z68 Deluxe/GEN3 with an Intel Core i7 2600K CPU for building a new computer. Upon first boot, it failed with POST code 49. However, it worked upon later tries. It has two Ethernet ports, one an Intel 82579 and the other a Realtek 8111E. When we tried to plug an Ethernet cable into the Intel port, it wouldn't connect to the network. However, it worked with the Realtek Ethernet port. In addition, the Windows 7 (Professional) device manager says that the Intel 82579 isn't working properly. I've tried installing drivers from Asus's site, but it still doesn't work. Using device manager to update them says that the drivers are up to date.

On a possibly unrelated note, the Windows Experience Index assessment fails (closes within a few seconds of starting it without displaying an error message) whenever we try to run it.
