Which is better in HD Radeon 5870, 6950, 6970, 6970 ?

Among these HD Radeon graphics cards 5870, 6950, 6970, 6970 which is better and why keeping the memory constant at 1 GB ? Can anyone tell me how to decide which card is better and why ? Is it the core frequency or something else (kindly mention please ) ?

Don't know why you listed the HD6970 twice...

Slowest card is the HD5870, the HD6950 is only a few percent faster than the HD5870 and the HD6970 is roughly 10-15% faster than a HD6950.

The HD6950 has less shader units (1408 vs the HD6970's 1536) also the HD6970 has higher core and memory clocks.

The HD5870 has more shaders (1600) but the shaders used in the 5xxx series are less efficent than the 69xx series shaders.

Oh BTW the 69xx series cards have 2GB of VRAM (Video memory) so they will perform well at high resolutions with all the eye candy on. You can buy a 1GB HD5870 or a 2GB HD5870.

Why does it have to be that fast. Whats wrong with a 5850 they take everything you throw at them in a decent system.

The HD6870 is slightly slower than a HD5870, So in order of performance starting with the slowest: HD6870, HD5870, HD6950, HD6970.
