Hi all,
Im a Computer Sci student with some cash coming my way and have decided that my PC is in desperate need of upgrading.
Currently I run Windows 7 Prof (64bit)
on a ASUS P5QL motherbord
(with Intel Core 2 Quad Processors)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131401&cm_re=asus_p5ql-_-13-131-401-_-Product
a XFX GeForce GTX260
http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_geforce_gtx_260_us.html
a Hitachi HDT721010SLA360 (1Tb Hard Drive)
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hitachi-HDT721010slA360-Inch-16MB-Saturn/dp/B001LDK4H4
I have 8 Gb of RAM over 2 BallistixTracer and 2 Corsair XMS2.
I use a High Power Plus 750 Watts power supply
http://www.highpowerplus.com/750.htm
and own a BenQ G2420HD monitor
http://www.benq.com/products/product_detail.cfm?product=1514&plid=5
I have a shoddy case that needs changing along with a wirless network card I picked up and a basic set of memory card readers and DVD drive.
What I am looking for is a high end system that isn't likely to date quickly, and specificly will allow me to play games (ie the new Dragon Age 2 on max) along with watch videos, fast browsing etc for a fair few years.
I was gifted only last year the GTX 260 so if possible would like to include that in my system
I will now paste in my copy of the template:
Approximate Purchase Date: Start of July (7/2011) at the latest
Budget Range: £500-£1000
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, surfing the internet, programing work, watching movies, other work...
Parts Not Required: keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers, OS, High Power Plus (750 watts)
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: no preference
Country of Origin: UK
Parts Preferences: I would like to use an Nvidia system with intel but I am open to suggestions
Overclocking: Unlikely (not sure on the point)
SLI or Crossfire: Can be convinced if worth the hassle
Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080
Additional Comments: Fast, Functional, Coolermaster Tower, Quiet and with all the trimings (i.e. cooling fans and dust management, I have exceding amounts of dust build up)
I have a real problem with the irql_not_less_or_equal blue screen currently and after a few fresh installs have decided to put it down to my messed up system.
This along with it not able to smothly run Dragon Age 2 has finaly prompted me to get to work looking for a new system! (21st coming up so as good a time as any).
Many Thanks in advance!
