My new gaming build keeps freezing up on me

I recently put together my first system and I'm having a problem with it. About 1/3 of the time when I click on anything with my mouse, my comuter freezes up, or I guess I would say that it hangs up. When I open up task manager or if I wait long enough it will start responding again but I would like to figure out what my problem is. Any Ideas?
