Hello! I have some questions regarding the process of switching my CPU to a new motherboard.

1) If I switch my CPU to a new motherboard, is it really necessary to remove the previous thermal compound and replace it?

2) How the heck do you work that AM3 Heatsink in so easily? I really hate the clip feature of it as it is, to me, not easy to install at all.

Thanks.

1) Yes.... you will need to clean off the old thermal compound and apply new thermal compound on the reinstall.

2) It's magic!! I can't really say why some can install it easier than others but I agree I'm not a big fan of the clip feature myself :D

Would of been a lot better if it was a screw heatsink :p

Well, it's a good thing I got my Artic thermal compound handy if I ever needed it. Do you know how to completely remove the compound off the CPU and heatsink and put it back on? I heard something about using alcohol and well, I don't have that at the moment.
