Issues with LG TV and Nvidia GTX260- Not using whole tv

I recently bought an LG TV (42" LD450) and I hooked it up to my pc via it's vga port and my gpu's dvi port (dvi to vga adaptor). The issue I am having is that there is a spot about 2" wide on the left side of the tv that is not being used at all, and it is offsetting the screen which is annoying.

I was wondering if anyone knows what would cause this issue.

  1. Go into your LG's Picture sub-menu. Set aspect ratio to "Just Scan".

That solved my issue with my 9600GT and my 47" LG 47LH90.
  2. What you're looking for is the under/overscan option that will allow you to resize the video output and eliminate the border. Probabaly under the HDTV option in the Nvidia control panel but not sure, have a look.
  3. Thanks for the input, I figured it out though :), I'm an idiot and couldn't find auto adjust function in the TV.... sometimes its the dumbest things ever.
  4. I just got this TV and have the exact same problem. Where is the auto adjust function? your help is appreciated. Thanks.
  5. found it under pictures settings... click on vga input and it gives you the adjustment settings.
