Does ASrock extreme3 Gen3 need a sound card?

Exactly as the title says. I've been looking at these 5.1 speakers that are cheap as dirt at the moment, but I am unsure if this mobo that I have coming in the mail supports any form of surround sound or if it needs a sound card. Does anyone know? Also does the board have the right connections for these speakers?

You are awesome nikorr! First off thanks for helping on the various pc building threads I've made the past week or so. You have been beyond helpful.

Do you moderate the Home audio forums? I have questions about audio but I don't want to get off topic in the mobo section :( . No one seems to read the home audio forums though.

You mean it's good when the CPU is not loaded?

Nope, its the best for sound, but is also great for the CPU, because the CPU does not have to do the sound decoding, ever : )

Ah gotcha. Also I was looking at the ports on the back of that card you linked me. Those are completely different than the ones on the rear of the asrock board I believe. Does that mean those 5.1 logitech speakers will not work unless I get a sound card like that?

P.s., check your pm's :D
