Hi. My current specs are E6600@3.6Ghz,P965-DS3R, 8GB DDR2 and 9600GT512MB. what do i upgrade first? CPU,MB,RAM or VGA? i play DIRT2, Rfactor,CS:SOURCE,L4D2, PES2010,WOW, all at 1080P in a 23" screen. sometimes it seems to sutter in DIRT2 but not much. I noticed that Fallout 3 goes into the 20's at 1080P

+1

Everything else is fine.

Gpu is a bit under power. Depending on you budget, we could recommend a Good gpu, like ati's newer HD 5xxx gpu's.

Ram, you have plenty of. unless your doing rendering.

cpu, more than enough horse power to run any gpu and game right now. When you do need to upgrade the cpu though, take your current cpu out and put in a core 2 quad Q9550.

One question about your computer. What PSU do you have? (Wattage and model number if possible)

The PSU is an FPS Blue Storm 80 Plus 500W. i think it's fine. i already had an 4870 in it and its fine. i also have 4 HDD in it tough. the q9550 doesnt seem to be supported by the Gigabyte P965-DS3R rev. 2.0...

Sorry about that, looked at wrong motherboard. accidently looked at GA-P35-DS3R

Although did you mean, GA-965P-DS3?

im not finding GA-P965-DS3R.

Well now we got all that cleared up.

Your right the the q9550 will not work on your MB. What would be recommended then is the q6600 if you can find one when your needing to upgrade the cpu. Then just overclock the cpu to 3+ Ghz. that will last you a while.

For now though, just upgrade the video card to ati's newer HD 5xxx cards. like HD 5770

My suggestion is to wait a bit for Nvidia to bring fermi on the market and then buy 5870. This should be fine to play any game at 1920x1600 full details for a good perioad of time and at next upgrade you will need to worry about the rest of the components.

i also had an q6600 but it was the first stepping and it was hot to run and i only had an Coolermaster TX2 to cool it. now i have an orochy with the 140 fan disconnected... my vga is also a gigabyte with the silentpipe thing... 5770 seems like not a good investment... i like nvida more... what do you think of an 260gtx or a 4890?? and what about a 5850? does it woth the upgrade??
