PSU or Motherboard - which is at fault?

Hello, I have a new system which ran fine for about two weeks, then suddenly died, and won't power back up. The motherboard buttons for power and reset both light up (red for power and green for reset) when the system is plugged in and turned on, but they are unresponsive. I have a friend with the same components, and he says his reset button is only lit up when the computer is running... so I'm not sure whats at fault here - the power supply (Corsair AX750) or the motherboard (Asus P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3) - any thoughts?

  1. Unplug power supply completely from motherboard, then try this:

If power supplies starts by this, then that can eliminate power supply fault
  2. Thanks for the quick reply, I'll try that later tonight.

Does anyone know what it means with the reset light being on, when the system is not on? Does this point at a motherboard issue?
