Graphics Card for COD Black Ops

Hello,
I can't play a new game with out it being choppy. I haven't stayed up on the good cards to get for a couple years. I want an inexpensive card, but that still will play games decent.

I was wondering if I should do SLI with two GeForce 9500 GT cards or go with one GeForce GTS 450 (Fermi) Card. I have never tried to do SLI and don't know how much trouble I will have to get it to work.

  1. There is absolutely zero point in SLi'ng 9500GT's, a single GTS450 would be wayyy better.
  2. I know i feel like an idiot when it comes to the graphics cards now. Thanks for your reply.
  3. No problem, depending on urgency and budget it might be worth waiting for a couple of weeks as the 4xx series is being EOL'd rather quickly it seems.
  4. Thanks for the advice. I think I can wait a couple of weeks and see what the prices are. Would you suggest a different card at about $125.
  5. I'm in the UK and prices here are a little different.
  6. For $125 you'd probably be looking at a gts450 or hd 5770. What's the rest of your system look like? (resolution too).
  7. what CPU are you running?

I was choppy and added a new vid card (470GTX) and I was still choppy w my core 2 duo
    then I added a new i7 950 and mobo CPU and Whamo........smooth as silk - 125FPS

Here are my Computer Specs right now.

    Mother Board - Nvidia nForce 680i SLI/ 680i LT
Graphics Card - GeForce 7900 GS
Processer Intel Core 2 Dou CPU E6750 @2.66GHz 2.67 GHz
    4 Gb Ram
    Resolution set at 1680 x1050
