HD 5770/GTS 450 can max out all games on 1280x1024.

What are the specs of your PSU?

Depends on what you mean by maxed out Maz. The 5770 will have issues with Crysis at 1280x1024 if maxed out means the highest levels of details, along with 8xAA and 60FPS avg. Metro is also probably beyond the 5770.

I do agree however that it makes a great card for that res. Nearly all games should look good.

Yes,Crysis and Metro are 2 exceptions.
Both can be run with high details(but some setting such as AA/AF or DX11 for metro) have to be turned off in order to maintain a smooth gameplay.
