Hello, I am deciding on a decent motherboard to hook up with an Intel i5-2300 socket 1155. I want to make sure I know what I am purchasing prior to doing so. What is a good intel motherboard (around $130 or less) that would suffice an i5-2300? Also, what exactly is Intel turbo boost technology and do I need a motherboard that supports turbo boost? Additionally, if I ever want to upgrade to an i5-2500k, do I need a motherboard that supports Intel K-Series unlocked CPU?

Sorry if I am not making any sense with my confusions. Thanks in advance.

What is Intel® Turbo Boost Technology and how does it work?

Intel Turbo Boost Technology is a way to automatically run the processor core faster than the marked frequency if the part is operating under power, temperature, and current specifications limits of the Thermal Design Power (TDP). This results in increased performance of both single and multi-threaded applications.

Your CPU supports Intel® Turbo Boost Technology 2.0

Your CPU runs @ Clock Speed 2.8 GHz
With Turbo Boost it will run @ Frequency 3.1 GHz when needed

No, the Z68 is just fine for that, or the P67 as well : )

Thanks for your response.
I have already purchased an i5-2300 for $150, so going for a 2500k would need more than $40. :)

People like this mobo, I build 1 PC with it and no problems so far.

Install went fine including all the drivers and updates and it is probably the best budget mobo for the gamer's out there.
