Wireless works but desktop does not

I have a satellite ISP. A tech came out and stated that my Netgear router was bad. He connected me directly to the desktop. I purchased a Linksys router WRT400N per their suggestion. I got it connected and it worked with 2 desktops and only one of the laptops. After 2 days, it stopped working . It states that it is connected.but displays "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage. The laptop will work for a day, next it will show the message of unable to connect to the webpage. The laptop will show it is connected, but you can't get on the internet. I am have the same problem with this router as I has with the old one, almost. What can be my problem with this new router?

The common factor is the separate modem, presumably supplied by the ISP. Ask them for a replacement.
