First of all i am getting no signal from my GPU, (8800gts). I am using a DVI-A (Analogue only) to VGA converter from my GPU to the monitor. However i am confused. Am i right when i say the graphic card only outputs a digital signal and therefore needs to be converted to analogue in order for my VGA monitor to detect a signal?

So should i use a DVI-I to VGA ?

Thanks for reading :)
