Directx 9 installation error

Hello, trying to install rift but i get an error message need to install direct x 9 but i have direct x 11 on my computer what do i do

DirectX11 is backward compatible, don't try to install Dx9.

but that is what it tells me to do ,update directx9 then it starts too then fails

It tells you to install DirectX 9? It is programmed to do so but if Dx11 is already installed then it is not required.
