just a quick question ....... is the E3 series equal to the i3 in performance, and if so, is the e7 equal to the i7? .... just wondering why an e3 could be equal in performance to an i2700k

The E3 series itself has a massive line up.

With the lowest lineup standing on its own two feets against previous generation then i think its fairly safe to say these things are built for only power in mind rather than budget

The answer is simple real servers cant really have desktop cpus placed inside them.They have different tasks therefore created differently.

Blame Intel for their naming scheme.

just hard to get a grasp on what's happening between consumder and business models.... not even sure one can compare the two with any kind of consistency.
