Question is in the title. I was going to go with the DF85, but microcenter has the 1200 for 120.

it looks like its the V1, any differences between the two?

also, 2500k or 2600k for gaming? I have one person pushing me towards the 2600k as they said HT will be very relevant in the near future for gaming, while everyone else is saying 2500k.

I doubt Hyperthreading will be gaming relevant for 5 years+

I have the Antec 1200 v1, and it fits my 5870 2GB card without issue. It helps they made the power plugs for the GPUs on the side rather than the HDD area of the card. You'll fit without problem.

Rest of my build is:
antec 1200
2 6970
CPX 850
2500k
noctua D14
4GB CAS8 ripjaws x 1600
Asus Sabretooth P67
Samsung 1tb F3 (or should I go with the 1tb black)?
plus 1 dvd and two other HDs

Will all this fit?

It seems the CE3 engine will support up to 8 cores, but without benchmarks it's hard to say what type of FPS increase it will be. If you can comfortably afford the 2600K, go head.

It's less of a gamble just because it's a good chip for other things as well!

1600 is my budget. I am cutting it close as is.

Will the CPX 850W reach being routed behind the mobo? Just wondering if I need the extension. I can probably afford the 2600k

Theres an extension 3 pack on newegg but I personally love the NZXT extensions at Frys because they are all wrapped in black with clean heat shrink.

For my friends budget builds I always include the 8 pin/4pin and 24 pin extension kit.
