Hello,

currently running a asus p7p55d-e lx mobo and a i7-870 cpu. i am running 4 x 4gb g.skill f3-12800cl9d-4gbnq but the bios and win7 is only picking up 8gb. anyone have any suggestions how to get my full 16gb running with this mobo? thanks

is your system 64 bit? also does your computer read all 8 gigs in bios?

Yeah my bios only sees 4gb and my os is win7 64bit version but I think it maybe a bios setting. Any ideas on which one to change?

try upgrading your bios but first do this:
STEP 1. Shut down & Power off your PC, physically at the PSU Power switch, or in my case switches.

STEP 2. Remove all memory modules to discontinue any voltage source to QPI.

STEP 3. Reset CMOS & reinstall modules.

STEP 4. Put all modules back in & then power on the PSU.

STEP 5. Power on your PC & jump into your BIOS & check your memory capacity.

Also just to recap I have 4 x 4gb = 16gb and bios is only recognizing 8gb

yea i saw....if those 2 solutiond didn work check for bent pine in the cpu

Have checked everything and done above reset and still only 8gb. Rather annoying really after paying for the 16gb and only being able to use 8gb. Any other suggestions?

did you check the CPU for bent pins?

I'm usually pretty good with installing CPUs I'll check tonight but I doubt it would be an issue

bent pins cuz the cpu to read only half the ram so make sure there arnt any
