Can a race with no boarding laser in his ship list use one when ----> Alien
hull fight : Normally
(for specific let say a Rebel death specula)

and what happen if set poorly (for bording laser) ?

Can I have a list of what is affected by Poorly ?

Yes, if rebals get there hands on a deth spec, they can use the bording
lasters.

And I don't have a clue what you are refearing to when you say set
poorly or affected by poorly.

I think that normally devices are not affected by "alien hulls fight
poorly", except a device like psi-ops hisser that only works for some
races.
Poorly merely affects the way your ship is fighting, e.g. weapons less
accurate.
I don't know if it has an effect on shields, armor and so on.
But that's only what I can remember from reading,I neither have any
experiences with that nor simt it.

Ah, so that makes sense now.

As far as I know, I haven;t read/seen anything that shows that boarding
lasers would work less because the hull plan isn't your own.

Well, it could not work say against crystals who are imune to the void
of space . . .

It depends on the game setup. I'm not a host, but from memory there is
a choice to either allow alien devices to work properly or to provide a
penalty/chance of a device to not work.

Boarding lasers on alien hulls no longer work ever. This is true even
if alien hulls fight normaly.
I have scripted this for the borg owning a deth fight normal on/off. It
was put into effect because someone didn't like rebles with priv MBR
running around boarding everthing with HG.

As far as I know here a list what may happen with foreign ship designs
(that may not only be create from the option if enemy ships fight poorly
or normal, maybe from the other host settings or hard coded in the host too):

Alien ship hulls repair are a max rate of 5% hull damage a turn
Alien hulls have defective scanners and make extra noise
Boarding lasers do not work on ships of alien hull design, but know from
races where it work and others like Scavs where the Bls not work
40% of weapons fail on alien hulls in your fleet
Exotic Tech does not work on alien hulls in your fleet

Maybe more I not remember.
