is this a good reliable gaming build that would last for some time. and how do i crossfire the video card

For that price you can get into a Sandy Bridge build which would be very good for gaming. Just swap the MB + CPU for an LGA1155 setup and make sure your memory is 1.5v (which it should be). With that said... looking at your parts for this AM3 build my thoughts are beow. The AMD build would be a fine gaming machine as well, but not on par with Sandy Bridge..

PSU => The power supply in that case may not be the greatest... IMHO, stick with Corsair or Antec then follow that up with a case you like. Something like => http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139005&cm_re=corsair_power_supply-_-17-139-005-_-Product

HDD => Samsung F3 1TB or F4 2TB.

GPU => Good choice on the 6850. In order to run CrossFire you will need to pick up a second 6850. This may not be needed unless you know you are going to tax the GPU.

CPU Cooler => Hyper 212+ will keep you cool and let you overclock. You should expect close to, or over, 4.0 GHz with good cooling. MicroCenter has them for $27 if you have a store near you.
