I have a graphic card Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT and i installed the latest driver for it. The resolution is ok but when i start a game it does not offer me my monitor resolution which is 1920x1200. It offers only 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x720 and some other but not 1920x1200. I installed all the drivers from the the cd that came with my motherboard and downloaded from the internet the latest graphic card driver, but i didn't install the utilities which i doubt has something to do with this problem. It might be some driver that has to be updated but i don't know which. Please help!!!

Looking at what info I could find about CivCity: Rome, it looks like the game just wasn't designed to operate at resolutions that high. That being the case, just select the highest wide-screen format that it offers.

LOTR Battle for Middle Earth 2 is a newer title and I am surprised that it doesn't support your desired native resolution. Is the game fully up to date? Also, some games require you to use "advanced configuration" options to access some settings. You may have to dig about the bowels of the games settings to find your desired settings.

Good luck!

LOTR Battle for Middle Earth 2 and CivCity are both from 2006 and i patched the game but still it's the same. I will try installing LOTR battle for middle earth 2 rise of the witch king but since it is an expansion and it too was released in 2006 i doubt it will change anything.

Anyway, thanks!

If you get a better monitor (Such as the Apple LED cinema display) (27-inch diagonal viewable image size thin film transistor (TFT) active-matrix liquid crystal display with in-plane switching (IPS).

Supported resolutions: 2560 by 1440 pixels, 1920 by 1080 pixels, 1280 by 720 pixels
Colors (maximum): 16.7 million
Aspect ratio: 16:9
Viewing angle: 178° horizontal; 178° vertical
Brightness (typical): 375 cd/m2
Contrast ratio (typical): 1000:1
Response time (typical): 12 ms)

Could you use the high resolution to improve World of Warcraft graphics by going to video options and increasing the resolution to the max? Or could you just increase the graphics to the best option and have smooth gameplay? I guess my question is how much does a monitors resolution affect the graphics in a game.

I have a Mac-mini btw and I have already looked into getting a graphics card, which resulted in me finding out that the Mac mini Gc is hard wired into the board so i cant swap it with something better. Please Help!
