Internet Not Working With Router

Hello, I have run across a strange and very peculiar internet problem. As of yesterday, my internet connection, when connected to a router, is not stable. The web pages don't load sometimes and when they do it feels like 1 kb/s. When I run a ping test sometimes I get 100% packet loss; I assume this is the problem.

However when I connect to my modem directly, the internet is fine.

I have a D-Link Wireless G Router, WBR-2310 and DI-524 and a Thompson modem from my ISP, Primus Canada.

Does anyone know anything about this or how to fix it?

More about internet working router
  1. Probably a wireless issue -- is there a new wifi network neighbouring ? Check with an ethernet cable between the computer and router. If problem goes away, try moving to a channel 5 stops away from new neighbour.
  2. Thanks for the reply, but I got the issue solved. Never did find out what the problem was or why it was caused.

I switched my modem to Routed PPP mode and set up my router to work only as an access point for it. Now I can use the router and the modem just fine.
