Reconnecting speaker cables

Hello,
how do I reconnect the speaker, usb cables - there is a ribbon cable which is secureed by a white plastic cover and I can't fifure out how it goes

Are you talking about the cables from the case to the motherboard? Can you link a picture? Also helpful to have brand of motherboard, pc if OEM, etc.

It is a Compaq CQ56 laptop
I cannot figure out how to plug the keyboad into the motherboard - I see the pins on the ribbon connector - but can't see how to plug into the motherboard
Also the other ribbons, have a small white plastic cover which I assume snaps in place to stop the ribbon from moving

Yoy are not showing haw to reconnect! I am trying to plug the keyboard connector into the motherboard is this supposed to be soldered on? - did I break it?

connecting the ribbon from the keyboard to the motherboard I am worried that the connector should be soldered to the motherboad, and I have pulled it off! but the connector appears to have 14 or so pins that may plug in?
It is an OEM Compaq CQ56
