    $50 bucks for 4 gig (2x2)
ddr2 isn't going to be cheap.

8 gig kit (4gbx2) is $135+. i think its probably cheaper to get 2gb x 4 if you really want 8 gb
  2. Yeah Thax Guys I am thinking maybe this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231182
Oh my cpu is Core Duo 1.8Ghz I am trying to get the best performance out of this pc, I was actually thinking about upgrading cpu to something faster is it worh it or should i build another pc with newer stuff ? I use it for a little gaming and graphic design Thx Again :)
  3. That will do : )

If u would upgrade to i5 u would double the speed and u would enjoy the games better.

Think about that. I would get upgrade, since this is 4x more expensive than DDR3. If u would invest $130 more, even the small i3 CPU and new mobo would kick the butt of any C2D system ...

It is all socket 1155 and i3 is the budget and i5 is the middle class with best gamer CPU, a.k.a. 2500K and than i7 is the high end with 2600K.

But for the games, the 2500K is as good as the $100 more expensive 2600K. The K means that the CPU multiplier is unlocked and it is the best for overclocking.

And since u want to spend some money on the RAM that is now outdated, it makes more sense to get technologically more advanced and way faster system than the ageing 775.

When I upgraded to 2600K from C2D E6750, it was a shock. The HD video encode on the old machine took 17hrs and the 2600K was done in less than 2 hrs.

And if u would get an SSD, it would be a rocket. So I would invest my money on the new system and even that set up will leave the old one in dust. That's how much things improved.

And if u would put $60 more to get the 2500K, that would secure the system speed for years, to be one of the fastest gaming PC's.
