A friend of mine who does video production is looking to sell his current pc due to him upgrading. He has offered it to me for what I feel is a good price. My question is will this system work well as a gaming machine? I want to be able to play games like Black Ops and Dragon Age 2 on high settings. Thanks.

System:
Intel Core i7-920 Quad Core Processor @ 2.67 GHz (It has hyperthreading for 8 virtual cores)
Gigabyte Ultra Durable 3 (not sure model)
Corsair HX 1000W
12 GB of RAM (6 x 2 GB Ballistix Tracer DDR3)
3 Hard Drives (2 x 640 GB Western Digital Caviar Black drives and 1.5 TB Seagate Barracuda Drive)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX285 Graphics Card
DVD Burner
Windows 7

He has offered to sell it to me for $900. This seems good to me based of my limited knowledge or what some of the parts cost.

So I shouldn't have any problems playing newer games at high settings?

It will perform alright but I think it's a little expensive for 2 year old CPU and GPU.

Benchmarks
Anandtech
Tom's Ignore the summary and DX11 results. I don't know why Tom's gives fake results for the GTX 285 in DX11 games.

i5-2400 $190
P67 $150
8GB RAM $140
GTX 460 $170
HD $100
DVD $20
PSU $70
Case $50
OS $100
Total $990

Cyperpowerpc can build comparable for $1013
