The motherboard is what supports memory for that CPU. It will work fine.

it says here you will be fine using 1333, just will have to OC to get that. or you can scale it back to 1066 if need be.

The memory controller is on the motherboard in Core2 systems. You will find motherboards supporting both DDR2 and DDR3. That is determined by the motherboard maufacturer not the CPU. If the board says DDR3 1333 then DDR3 1333 will work.
