How compatible is hp drivers with dell system?

Am using a dell inspiron N4010, i tried installing Hp deskjet 2460, but it has compatibility issue. Can someone please tell me why and what i should do. Am using windows7. Thank you

Uninstall everything HP and unplug the printer from the computer. The try this:

It seems your printer is somewhat old and HP is sometimes very bad at keeping drivers up to date.
