Serever memory for desktop

I bought a pair of sticks 2x4gb kingston hyperx blu and seller told me is registered buffered memory. But when I got to the kingston site the hyperx blu appears only to be for normal desktops. Where is the error? Can I use it for my desktop mobo?

  1. If the part number is for desktop RAM, then it should work.
  2. The Kingston Hyper-X ram is desktop only:

Just hope the seller didn't overcharge you by saying it was server memory. The kit is only $40 with free shipping on Newegg:

thanks, but we went ahead and cancelled the transaction. Personally I don't want any surprises, I guessed it would work though, but he had set a bad listing info. Thanks again
  4. If you're in the US, just order it through the Newegg link I posted.

Actually not, is was less than 40 bucks. I think he didn't know what he was really selling despite seems to know about the matter.
