Ddr3 amd athlon motherboard

I would like to upgrade to a ddr3 motherboard. I have a AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+. Is this possible?

Hi there, u have AM2 socket and there are very few mobos for that and all are DDR2.

I just bought an ASrock N68C-GS UCC motherboard. It supports both DDR2 and DDR3. I believe to use DDR3 you must use an AM3 CPU. FYI, the N68C-GS UCC supports a max of 95 watt CPU's. I'm not sure if your CPU is 89 or 125 watts.
