Bang for buck database server

Last response: in Systems
Share

I'd like to build a server to house my companies various databases. Nothing intense...just basic word processing/spreadsheet softwares.

I mostly want the best bang for my buck--I don't want to spend money on something I really don't need (ie. video card).

I have a monitor & windows 7 installations already.

If i5-2500k is the best dollar for dollar, then even if it's overkill, I'll pick it up. I'd prefer Intel.

I'd like a raid 1 for disk redundancy. I'm thinking 2x 1TB Samsung F3's.

Any feedback would be great. Thanks!
