Hello,
I have a southbridge intel 82801EB/ER(ICH5/ICH5R) INTEL CHIPSET i865/GG/GV Product OR8060 MANUFACTURER DELL , PENTIUM 4 CPU 2.80 GHZ . When i check my system information it states maximum supported 4.00 GB , when i check wit the memory sites and talk to the rep every one says it only supports 2.00 GB of memory ???????? which one is correct ? Thanks for helping .

It will take only 2.00gb of memory. 2 GB is chip set limitation.

Strange answer you got John because right now I am answering from a Dell OptiPlex computer with that exact motherboard in it and 3gb or dell ram and I just ordered more ram to bring it up to the maximum of 4gb that the board will support. It will actually support up to 4gb of dell ddr1 ram.
