Hi!

Approximate Purchase Date: Within the next two months

Budget Range: $2,500, could go over if needed

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming (Shooters, WoW, SC2), internet, maybe blu ray movies

Parts Not Required: Speakers, sound card, i7 2600k, DVD Burner

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: No preference but newegg charges me tax since I live in California.

Country of Origin: US

Parts Preferences: Intel proc socket 1155, OCZ vertex 3 or equivalent, USB 3.0, GTX 580, case has to fit these dimensions:

20.1" height
19.1" length
9.75" width

I like this one: COOLER MASTER Storm Scout

Overclocking: eventually

SLI or Crossfire: eventually, upgrade to another 580 in a couple years?

Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080, 120Hz, 2-5ms (BTB)

Additional Comments:

1. I would like a quiet PC since it's right by my bed but with dual 580s eventually that's probably out of the question.

2. I need an IDE port for my DVD burner and a PCI slot for my soundcard.

Questions:

1. I'm having trouble choosing a mobo. I'd like to have a x16x16 SLI capability (hope I'm saying that right) but I can't find any out there yet. Do they exist?

2. When are the Vertex 3s coming out?

Thanks!

I included that blu ray burner in this build for the fact sticking an old arse EIDE drive in a build like this and with your budget would be a crime imo. It's comparable to buying a new Ferrari and sticking used bald tires on it. You can cross reference these items with Amazon and chances are some will be on there and with free shipping. This build leaves you room in your budget to add a SSD...not sure when the new ones come out...I read on here next week sometime. The psu down below is fully modular and allows you to add another one of those factory over clocked gtx 580's for SLI. Also that Gigabyte mobo should be hitting the shelves any day now along with the rest of the revised (B3) P67 mobo's.

That mobo down below runs dual cards @ 16x & 16x not to mention it's the king of the hill for these P67 mobo's in regards to o/c. That Zalman h/s down below is on Frosty Techs top ten list, the RAM is fast and low voltage, etc....

Thanks, I forgot to say that I don't need any storage hard drives either and I already ordered the processor.

Here's one of the specs on the Superbiiz website about this mobo

Slots: 4x PCI-Express 2.0 x16 Slots (two running at x8, Supports ATI 2-Way/3-Way CrossFireX and nVidia SLI); 1x PCI-Express 2.0 x1 Slot; 2x PCI Slots

It says two running at x8 and I want two running at x16. Are there any mobos out there that do this?

Was there something wrong with my cooler master storm scout since you suggested a different case?

There's three P67 boards that run cards @ 16x & 16x that I know of... Asus has two of them (over priced imo), and Gigabyte has that one. EVGA is coming out with their own here in the near future.

That CM Scout is a dandy... I just threw that Antec in there to give you another idea to look at.
