This is a followup of my previous post: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/306379-31-computer-turning-nothing#t2277489

I ended up breadboarding once I had the free time (work, life, etc. getting in the way): http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/262730-31-breadboarding

BTW thanks jsc :hello:

One issue is my case sound (HAF 932) wasnt working so cant hear any beeps, but the mobo has LED's that help troubleshooting during the POST.

My results? THe boot LED keeps coming on--even after changing the HDD connection to multiple SATA ports and not just the ones that the ASUS recall is focused on.

The images are as follows:

1. Mobo with CPU and HSF only: the Mem LED correctly lights up as it should on the left of the image. Nvm the right circle, just was happy that mobo was showing that it was getting power and not damaged from my previous stupid mistake (see previous post)

2. Next, with Mem connected: the VGA LED lights up as it should but the boot LED is now on (no HDD atached)

3. Now, VGA is connected and powered, and the boot LED is on. No HDD is attached so I figured SO WHAT

4. HDD connected, and instead of posting every single picture just take my word for it: no matter which SATA port the HDD is connected, the Boot LED is always on and I dont get a picture on my monitor. The doggone HDD is spinning, but nobody's home.

Do I just RMA the mobo or is there something I'm missing?!

Thanks. But I guess if the system is still broken, I wasn't that much help.

If you have a system that is not working, I don't care how many LED's you have. You really need a case speaker. Unfortunately, a lot of cases do not come with them any more.

I finally got correspondence to RMA my mobo so hopefully the new mobo won't be so much trouble. I was in the process of connecting separate computer speakers directly to the mobo through the back panel connectors. Dont know if that would've helped but not gonna putz with it anymore.

I would have tried the ram in the other slots, I know you have it in the slots the manual says, but it seems backwards, so maybe the manual is a typo. My P67 board from MSI runs in the other 2 slots, as do alot of motherboards I have seen.
