Alright, so I'm looking into building my first computer and I've gotten several things down, but I do still need some help. Particularly, I am unsure of which motherboard to get and whether or not the case fans will be adequate for coolings. If anyone has any component/case suggestions and/or sees possible issues with these components, please reply. It would help a lot, seeing as how I am quite new to the whole PC thing (I've been using laptops for the most part). Oh, and any advice on the video card? I've looked into several (ATi 5670, 6850, 6870, nVidia 550 ti and GTX460) but don't know which one is best for the price.
My budget is around $600 (I still have to buy monitor and network adapters, so $650 tops on just components), and all of these cost around 540-550 with shipping, so there's definitely room to change things a bit.
I am in no way a "hardcore" gamer, but I still like to play every now and then (Crysis, StarCraft, MineCraft).
Here are my specs thus far:
-ASUS DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS Black SATA 24X DVD Burner

Again, any help is appreciated. Oh, and any "How-To's" for construction/wiring would be great too, but not necessary. Thanks!
