To do or not to do

I am currently running TWO Nvidia GEForce GTX 285's in SLI. I have some extra money to upgrade my system and I was wondering if now would be a good time to upgrade to say a single GTX 580 ? Will it give me a SUBSTANTIAL boost over the twin 285's ? Or.... is there something coming on the horizon in the GPU market I should wait for ?
Other system info.... Asus p6t mb, Intel core i7 940 @ 2.93 and 6 gigs RAM.

Thoughts ?

I'd personally go for it. It should be a nice boost and getting rid of SLI will help with some games. I just went from 2 ati 4870s in xfire to a GTX 580 and I'm very happy with it.
