Gpu fitting problem?

So i just posted i want a new gpu and psu, i just looked in my case, and it looks like my gpu wont fit . i want to buy an ati hd4870, but there's this thing on the motherboard that will probably block the fan if i put it in

Length of the graphics card seems to be no problem... so what do i do know , take the fan off ? look for another graphics card?

No problem the card is going to overhang the slot in the other direction blocking the slot below the PCIe x 16 slot!

Yes, it should be OK but not if you have a card in the PCI-E x1 slot
BTW, why a HD4870? It's a fine card but there's better out there.
