how can i modify a pentium 4 motherboard so i can have more memory the what i have now cause i only have 256mb of memory and its not enough to run some programs and i have like 12 memory sticks that aren't being used

well you can look up the model number online and see the maximum memory amount supported

Adding more RAM sticks is the only way. What motherbord do you have ?
