460SLI or 570SLI

I searched a lot of articles about graphics cards and finally decided to SLI two Nvidia cards for my 2300$ system,however,I can not decide between gtx 460 and gtx 570

Gtx 460 about $340 for SLI
Gtx 570 about $740 for SLI

how are their value/price ratios compared?If I pick a gtx 460,I think I will spend the extra money on a better case and a larger SSD(which i think is not so meaningful).

Is there any articles that tests their SLI performance?

Personally I would buy either a single GTX570 or SLi two GTX460s. If you're for gaming then remember some games don't utilize SLi technology.


Also, you should look into CrossFire, from what I've seen it's generally cheaper to do.

Look at these statistics and you decide which is best for your money, remember that the GTX570 can run very high resolution rather well if you like that.

How many games now supports SLI? 40% or more? Do the games made in the future all support SLI?if your answer is no,i would choose one single 570 now,reserving one SLI slot for future upgrade,if yes,maybe I will pick two cards(probably 570,but 460 is also a good deal)

You're right, 2x 460s for $320.00 is very good. I'm not too sure about how many games support SLi because I don't run 2 cards at the moment but I can see it becoming a universal thing perhaps later this year or next. If your motherboard supports CrossFire too then here's something to consider aswell:

Although the tech. spec. doesn't look as "good", the AMD Radeon HD5770 is an awesome all-round graphics board and scale very very well. $300.00 is a good price to CrossFire it. But if not interested I think you should go for the GTX570.

Taking your advice into consideration,I will go for one single GTX 570(with 3dMark and Mafia2 free)and maybe pick up another 570 and SSD(I will wait for the new OCZ SSD to come out,now using a HDD) later this year.thx again
