Hello there,

i just bought Shogun 2 and I now painfully realized, that my old PC like it is right now, just doesn't cut it anymore...

The PC is about 3 years old, it cost me about 1200€ (~1680$) and now I'm wondering, if I should upgrade it or just buy a new one...

This is my current PC:
ABIT IP35V LGA775 FSB1333 SATA
INTEL Core 2 Quad Q9300
4096MB DDR2-1066Mushkin Kit XP2-8500
XFX GeForce 9800 GTX
be quiet! Straight Power 700W
2x 500GB Samsung

Should I just change the graphics card and be happy or is the rest just too slow for that?

I don't have that much money now like I then had, so my budget is around 800€ (~1100$).

Thanks for the Advice

Hello Stokel;

What monitor resolution are you using?

The first thing I'd suggest (and the only thing right now) is to upgrade that video card.
Test out the new card and if you're still not happy you can at least carry forward the new card into a new system.

I've got a 19" Acer which is quite old with a resolution of 1280x1024.
Maybe it's time for a new monitor, too. ^^

i agree with WR2, new GPU and Monitor are quite in order, everything else looks awequate at least. for a good 3-400 you can get a solid GPU and 16x9 or even 1080 monitor.

You have a good rig. Upgrade the video card, the monitor (Please!) and clean out dust, replace fans if they need it, replace filters if your case has them. You could add more ram if you are running Vista 64bit.

Well, i think I'll do that...
Which card would u recommend?
Maybe the GTX470 or the HD 6870?
I heard that the new GeForce GTX 590 will be launched in about 2 days, maybe the prices for the other cars will drop then?
